Everything that Glitters, is not Gold

Everything that Glitters, is not Gold:

As we purchase more and more shiny, plastic consumerables, we add pollution to the air and slowly change our environment. Using iridescent gold and silver to express the seduction of all that glitters, but also the high price we pay." Cut down the trees, and put them in a tree museum.
Pave Paradise, put up a parkin lot."

70s Nonchalance

70s Nonchalance:

Today's generation are growing up with a more sophisticated knowledge about the environment. 70s Nonchalance is about my childhood, where recycling and carbon footprints weren't being taught in Kindergarten. I sit comfortably not realizing how precious this long, solid piece of wood is. A solid tree made in Canada, cut down and used as a sustainable bench, with the smallest carbon footprint possible. Something that will last a lifetime and not need a landfill, or a major factory to produce.
“We have not inherited the world from our forefathers â€" we have borrowed it from our children.”

Red Squamish Trees

Red Squamish Trees:

The strength, determination and will to survive is what it means to be alive. As thin, scraggly trees face the challenge of growing through rock, their leaves dance in loose brushstrokes. As a visual statement of will, they manage to find nutrients high amongst the rocky cliffs.

Prairie Storm

Prairie Storm:

Golden prairie fields are graphically flat beneath a stormy copper sky. Brewing clouds and layers of color highlight the beauty of the prairies. A very fragile technique of layering tempera paint for a matte, fragile finish. Giclee prints distributed through CasaPublishing.com

Jericho Beach DXB

Jericho Beach DXB:

Jericho beach in Vancouver from an aerial view. Contemplative, a place to get married, play volleyball or sit in the city sand and watch the clouds after the storms. This continues my series of work in a fresco style. Featured at Rendezvous Art Gallery on Howe Street.
